About BHS

About the Society

The Black Hole Society is run by ANU students. The society began in early 2007.

Membership is only $5 a year and anyone is welcome to join.

Society Aims

  • •Promote awareness of the study of Astronomy and related scientific fields.
  • •Provide a support network for students of astronomical and related disciplines at the ANU.
  • •Provide liaison between students and relevant academic staff of the University.
  • •Organisation of social events for the benefit of members.
  • •Creation of educational benefits through lecture series.
  • •Provide opportunities to engage in observational astronomy through field trips to ANU research facilities.
  • •Act as a connection between members of the club and the wider astronomical community.
  • •Broadcast information of astrophysical academic courses.
